The application process for the Self-Generation Incentive Program depends on several factors including system size, installed technology and incentive category.
To receive an SGIP incentive, applicants follow either a two-step or three-step application process. The project developer or contractor will typically manage the application process and serve as the applicant.
To get started with initiating a project, a contractor/installer should be contacted to help navigate the application process, confirm eligible technology, and work with program administrators to apply for the appropriate budget category. The state maintains a list of developers approved to work on SGIP here: https://www.selfgenca.com/documents/developer/approved (The list is in a spreadsheet that will automatically go to the downloads folder on your computer.) Applications are submitted to selfgenca.com.
